Comedy and Cocktails Series hosted by Damon Sumner - 3/29
at City Winery Atlanta
Damon has been called, “a blend of Kevin Hart and Jim Gaffigan.” Since starting standup in Atlanta in, Damon has shared the stage with numerous headliners, nationally and internationally, like Todd Glass, Iliza Shlesinger, Duncan Trussell, Jarrod Harris, Wendy Liebman, George Wallace, and so many more. In 2012, Damon was a part of the team that opened the first full-time mainland comedy club in China, Kungfu Comedy Club. He’s performed in illustrious comedy festivals around the U.S. including the Dallas Comedy Festival, Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, Out Of Bounds Comedy Festival and the Hell Yes Comedy Festival.
Andrew George is an Atlanta based comedian who can be seen performing in comedy clubs and festivals all over the country. You may have seen him on Comedy Central, the film American Dirtbags, or on the front page of World Star Hip Hop (he isn't sure why either...)
Anthony Driver is an Atlanta based comic who is currently active in the Atlanta comedy scene. He does his best to be honest with himself in order to connect as much as he can with audiences. While pontificating on matters of life such as approaching women, compulsive eating, and how to manage charm and eloquence while looking like the scariest dude in the room, Anthony makes sure that everybody who watches him has as much fun as he does.
Anthony is a military brat who was born in Huntsville, AL, but claims Columbus, GA, as his hometown. He was introduced to the idea of performing stand up while having a conversation with a friend about what they would do if they didn’t have to worry about bills. Anthony’s answer: “I’d probably just talk a lot of s*** and drink beer.” Needless to say, the plan was put into place from that point.
As a graduate from Tuskegee University and former coach and player for the Tuskegee Golden Tigers Football Team, Anthony juggles life as an Electrical Field Engineer by day and an amateur Stand-Up Comic by night; a regimen that Anthony explains to be “easier than you think it is when you have no kids, no wife, and all the time in the world to be as selfish with your daily thoughts and actions as you like”.
Anthony’s comedic style and delivery is influenced by standup comedians such as Corey Holcomb, Patrice O’Neal, Eddie Griffin, Paul Mooney, Bill Hicks, and Sinbad. If you are into honest humor and a good time, be sure to check out Anthony Driver.
"Witty, colorful, and nerdy as hell... Laura provides a comedic act that is sassy, shameless, sophisticated, and chock full of dirty references. She's every woman's woman and every man's kick in the ass; both of which make her delightfully relatable and seriously funny.
Laura Austin can be seen nightly on comedy stages all over Georgia, some of which include The Laughing Skull Lounge, The Punchline, and Relapse Theatre. "
