City Winery

City Winery blends a wine bar and event space with a fully operational winery in New York City – the first in a major urban area. The facility will open in Fall 2008.

The Winery

City Winery will be New York's first private label winery and first significant urban winery on the East Coast.

We will have a capacity of making approximately 300 barrels or 15,000 gallons of wine in our first year. We are sourcing our grapes from painstakingly selected vineyards in California, Oregon, Washington, and New York State. We are building the winery right now, but will have state-of-the-art stainless steel fermenting equipment, crusher, destemmer, sorting tables, bottlers, and all the equipment necessary to make really great wine. 200 barrels will be made by our customers as part of a barrel ownership winemaking school program. The balance of the wine will be made into our house wine. The barrel program is going great, we have already sold 1/3 of our barrels to people who share a deep appreciation for wine and an understanding that experience City Winery offers — to learn the art of winemaking by actually doing it — is priceless.
