Experience Ridge wine in the city with Tom Deaso of Ridge Vineyards. City Winery is thrilled to host an evening of (rare and delicious) wine education, tasting and pairing, intertwining cultural elements and experiences. We will highlight the history and unique attributes of each wine within the framework of Ridge Vineyards. The tasting will be educational and interactive, with an emphasis on wine. Light food pairings will augment the versatility and deliciousness of the wine. The custom menu crafted by Chef Enx will be regionally and seasonally inspired to match each wine.
Join us as we welcome Ridge Vineyards! You’ll be guided through a phenomenal flight of some of the most delicious wines in a comparative vertical flight with a special large format for fun. We'll explore the expressions of Ridge wines from Sonoma Coast to Paso Robles, with Cabernet to Merlot and Zinfandel. Of course, we'll focus on the home vineyard of Montebello, but range as far as Lytton Springs, Ponzo, and Dusi in Paso Robles. And, if you play nice, perhaps we can snatch a sampling of the Carignan or the Cabernet blends, or maybe even winery only bottlings. This is a winery with depth and wildly expressive wines that reflect the unique terroir and micro-climates of the California coast. Each wine will be paired with custom crafted courses from the City Winery kitchen. Sonoma, California.
We'll also delve into our reserve list of special, cellared vintage selections of the Ridge Vineyards wines will be cracked open and decanted. Final tasting list to be published soon. Absolutely unique and exclusive.
Tom started his career as Eastern Regional Manager with Ridge in 2016. He comes from 16 years in the wine business, most recently running the New England territory for Accolade Wines. His territory for Ridge covers the entire Eastern seaboard of 18 states with 19 distributors. His passion for wine was developed working in restaurants where he was responsible for two award winning wine lists in Michigan. He transitioned from restaurants into the wholesale side which lead him to working directly for wineries. Being from the Nutmeg state Tom loves all the 4 seasons and is passionate about spending time with his wife, Stacey, and their 3 kids. Tom is honored to be a part of the Ridge Team and their commitment to producing wines of the highest quality.
