Anthony Terlato started building Terlato Wines over 50 years ago, with the vision to gather people together at the table to enjoy family, friends, and good wine. His family owned one of the first retail wine shops in Chicago, back in the day. He is one of the greatest historic figures in the wine world...a pioneer, old guard, and still kicking it up a notch. He introduced Pinot Grigio wines to the United States in the early 1980s. Terlato's memoir, TASTE: A Life in Wine was published in 2008 by Agate Publishing. Honestly, we think he may very well be 'the most interesting man in the world.'
The wines of Terlato Family Vineyards illustrate the family's commitment and passion to crafting world-class wine. Each varietal is developed by carefully selecting grapes from the most esteemed viticultural areas of California, insisting on limited production of handcrafted wines. These wines are authentic expressions of their region and are created with the intention of serving gastronomy. He will be bringing that vision to City Winery, along with excellent conversation, deep family history and tradition, and delightful wines from Terlato Family Vineyards, as well as Chimney Rock, Rutherford Hill, Sanford Flor de Campo, Tangley Oaks, and, if we are lucky, Galaxy. Did we mention "family?" This portfolio highlights and emphasizes only family owned and operated wineries that have a strong sense of family. For serious. Family.
These wines will be paired with incredible food, especially designed by the Chef to highlight and augment each wine. An exclusive, intense, and exhilarating event!
