About Corky Siegel

Corky Siegel Website

Long-time Chicago Blues harp legend Corky Siegel, his Red Hot Chamber Blues Ensemble and Grammy Nominated, vocalist Matthew Santos ( Superstar) join forces on November 3rd - City Winery!

Alligator Records artists Corky Siegel's Chamber Blues (world-class string quartet, Chinese erhu, East Indian tabla, rockin' blues harp and piano) help celebrate an important 40th Anniversary for the Chicago label along with a 25th anniversary for Corky's ground-breaking blues-classical fusion. We are also celebrating Corky's 70th year in his love affair with Planet Earth. This award-winning composer continues to forge an entirely original genre of music, guiding the blues of Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters out of the the smokey blues clubs in the 60s onto the classical concert stage obliterating musical categorization in the process. Don't miss this memorable musical joy ride as Corky enters more uncharted territories with the addition of the young hip-hop, folk-rock singer/songwriter phenomenon, Matthew Santos (who won a Grammy Nomination for his vocals on the 30 million unit selling hit, "Superstar" with Lupe Fiasco).

About Matthew Santos

Matthew Santos Website

Matthew Santos has established himself as one of the most exceptional talents to emerge from the Chicago music scene in decades. With a voice consistently compared to that of the late Jeff Buckley and likened to a male version of Adele, he has been the subject of praise from such artists as Kimbra, Eddie Vedder, and John Legend. His highly acclaimed collaborations with Lupe Fiasco for which he received two Grammy nominations, have served to broaden international awareness of Santos whose own style is a unique, homegrown hybrid touching on alternative/indie-rock/soul and folk genres. The Chicago Sun-Times recognized Santos as an artist who is “organic and soulful and moody, full of interesting musical ideas and dripping with serious vocal talent.”
