City Winery Catches a Phish

Posted: 06/08/09

Check out what went down on Wednesday night:

Mike Gordon of Phish celebrated his birthday with a surprise show at City Winery Wednesday night, playing a brand spankin' new 'flaming' bass (a birthday gift from Page). Friends included Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead) on drums and Scott Murawski (Max Creek, Mike Gordon band) on guitar. The raging jam session lasted almost 3 hours and was full of some classic covers and Grateful Dead tunes.

In a related topic, Leo Kottke, who has collaborated on two albums with Mike Gordon ("Clone" 2002 & "Sixty Six Steps") will be playing two dates at City Winery. June 16th and June 17th. Tickets are on sale now.
