Join us for an intimate dinner and tasting featuring the wines of America’s most historic sparkling wine estate.
 
Founded by German immigrant Jacob Schram in 1862, Robert Louis Stevenson visited Schramsberg a few years later and described it as ‘the picture of prosperity: stuffed birds on the verandah, cellars far dug into the hillside, and resting on pillars like a bandit's cave: all trimness, varnish, flowers, and sunshine, among the tangled wildwood.’ 
 

Jack and Jamie Davies bought the estate in 1965 and began producing America’s first Méthode Champenoise wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the traditional grape varieties of Champagne. Factoid: In 1972, President Nixon poured Schramsburg's Blanc de Blancs at the famous "Toast to Peace" dinner in China with Premier Zhou Enlai.

The Davies' son Hugh now runs the family business and will guide us in our tasting of Schramsberg’s superb sparkling wines and their award-winning J. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon.
