Join us for a dinner to remember - Federico Giuntini Masseti, of famed Tuscan producer Selvapiana, will preside over an intimate 3 course wine dinner showcasing the estate's current releases as well as a selection of vintages from 1978, 1985 and 1999.

As a special treat Federico will also guide us on a tasting of the Selvapiana's highly regarded estate-grown olive oil. Chef Andres Barrera will prepare Tuscan inspired dishes for a true taste of Tuscany.

Wines to poured:

2008 Chianti Rufina
2006 Chianti Rufina Vigneto Bucerchiale
2006 Fornace Toscana IGT

1978 Chianti Rufina Riserva
1985 Chianti Rufina Riserva

1999 Chianti Rufina Riserva Vigneto Bucerchiale

Fattoria Selvapiana produces rare and elegantly structured wines that have been 100% certified organic for quite some time. The estate has been in family hands since 1827 when Michele Giuntini Selvapiana purchased the first plot of grapes. The 600 acre estate today encompasses some of the most highly sought after land in Tuscany where Selvapiana has innovated with a experimental vineyard in Pontassieve, solar power in their winery and low emission wood burning systems that maintain a remarkable degree of synergy with the land.

Selvapiana lies fairly far north in Tuscany within Chianti Rufina, closer to Emilia Romagna than the center of the Classico zone. This locale is much cooler, and thus gives rise to later ripening and more elegantly aromatic wines than in the rest of Chianti.

Selvapiana's flagship wine, Bucerchiale, is one of the oldest all-sangiovese wines in Chianti.  It was all-sangiovese long before that was allowed in the DOC. All Selvapiana wines age with incredible grace and prolonged charm, and this opportunity to taste from the stellar '78, '85 and '99 vintages will offer ticket holders a rare chance to see the evolution of these spectacular wines over 3 decades.
