Aretha Franklin is one of the giants of soul music, and indeed of American pop as a whole. More than any other performer, she epitomizes soul at its most gospel-charged. Her astonishing run of late-'60s hits with Atlantic Records--"Respect," "I Never Loved a Man," "Chain of Fools," "Baby I Love You," "I Say a Little Prayer," "Think," "The House That Jack Built," and several others--earned her the title "Lady Soul," which she has worn uncontested ever since.

This special tribute to Aretha will feature the incredible vocal styles of Ms. Chiquita Green and her accomplished band of session musicians many of who have played with Aretha over the years and continue to do so today, Aaron Graves-(piano), Herb Smith-(guitar), Brett Jolly-(bass), Timmy Hudson-(drums), John Farnsworth-(sax), Denise King (backing vocal), Elisa O'Keefe-Smith, and Stacey Rodriguez Lilly, who have played with the likes of Natalia Cole, Elton John, Lil Jimmy Scott, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, Michael McDonald, The Ojays, Cassandra Wilson, Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion, Richard Smallwood, Maceo Parker, Cecil Payne, Alicia Keys, Tom Petty and Marlena Shaw, Bill Cosby, to name just a few.

ABOUT CHIQUITA GREEN

Like a seasons yield of wine, Philadelphia native Chiquita Green's music is ripe and ready for the world. For over a decade, she's been traveling the globe sharing her musical gifts worldwide. Although her roots are heavily established in Gospel and Jazz, her strong influences mesh in the genres of Soul and R&B.

She has headlined and performed at numerous famous jazz clubs around the globe, from The Half Note-Athens, to The Q Jazz Club- Istanbul, The Vienne Jazz Festival- France, Hot Club de Lyon, Princess Grace Theatre- Monte Carlo, and so many more. Her voice can be heard on several recent CD projects including Stevie Wonder (Celebration CD), George Clinton (Gansters Of Love), Denise Williams (Love Niecy Style), Russel Thompkins (Three Tenors Of Soul), Hall And Oates (All The Way From Philadelphia), Ronnie Spector (Soon to be released CD), Enon Tabernacle Mass Choir "As For Me And My House", The Gillian Grannum Project, and more.

She wrote and co produced two of her CD projects ("Let Go" and "The Sandmouth/Mercy Project" (for which the majority of proceeds are donated through a worldwide outreach ministry to save the lives of starving and dying children in Africa ) with bassist/producer Douglas C. Grigsby lll (Teena Marie). The CD "Let Go" won two Ensound Music Awards in 2006 for Best Urban Soul Album and for Best Jazz Performance. She was nominated in six categories for the 2010 Ensound Music Awards and won for Best Christian Jazz Performer.She also wrote and co-produced the soon to be released CD project ("Keep My Eyes Upon You") with Multi Platinum writer/producer Bobby Eli, (Major Harris, Blue Magic).
