THE FINAL SHOW

After a 19 week run, one of the longest in the city, Joseph Arthur plays his last show of his City Winery residency. As a special treat, and expanding on Arthur's traveling art exhibits, this final show will feature an exhibition by Spencer Drate and Judith Salavetz. Both are Award Winning Creative directors, Designers, Authors, Curators, and Packagers specializing in music and pop-culture books. Drate was a 4 time Grammy judge (1989-1992) on the music packaging committee, co-designed a Grammy Award nominated Album Package (1979) "Talking Heads-Fear of Music" and authored the first visual history book on the 45 Record Sleeve "45 RPM" in 2002.

Drate & Salavetz have designed for such artists as U2, Lou Reed, The Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ramones, Talking Heads, The Pretenders, Joan Jett and Bon Jovi. This exhibit will feature their ORIGINAL album artwork in a casual walkaround display. COME EARLY to appreciate the ICONIC albums. Their many pop-culture books have covered such areas as Film Animation, Film Special Effects, Movie Posters, Rock Posters, Rock Photography, Motion Design, Graphic Design, Motorcycle Design, Web Design, Music and Typography.

Continuing with his hugely successful sold-out residency Joseph Arthur returns to City Winery on Friday March 26th with a special performance with Keren Ann. This very special residency showcases an eclectic marriage of Arthur’s song writing with the pop-chanteuse aesthetic of Ann’s particular talent.

Arthur has toured with the likes of R.E.M., Ben Harper, and Gomez and has had his song “In the Sun” covered by Chris Martin of Coldplay and remixed by Justin Timberlake. A painter, a soloist and collaborator Arthur’s prodigious talents prompted Peter Gabriel to personally sign him to his record label, Real World. He is smart, surprising and infinitely rewarding, constantly stirring the imagination. Arthur toured extensively in Europe and Canada in 2009 and has had his 2006 release, Nuclear Daydream, re-issued. His first studio album since 2008’s Temporary People is due in summer 2010. A prodigious talent, Arthur’s songwriting has sharpened the focus of his creative expression on his latest project.

About Keren Ann

Keren Ann Zeidel is a singer-songwriter-composer-producer and engineer based largely in Paris, Tel-Aviv and New York. She has lived and recorded in France and New York for many years though she retains her Dutch and Israeli citizenship. Her two previous shows sold-out and this showcase with Joseph Arthur is likely to go very quickly. Get tickets today!

She is also a member of the band Lady & Bird with Bardi Johannsson. They released a self-titled record in 2003 and have worked on diverse composition projects such as a show with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra in Reykjavik (May 2008) with director Daniel Kawka. The live performance has been recorded and post produced by the band and released in September 2009. Keren Ann & Bardi have also made the music for the TGV 2005-2006-2007 campaign. In 2008 Keren composed with Tibo Javoy the entire sound design for European TV Channel "ARTE".

She is the co-writer for many internationally acclaimed recordings such as "Chambre Avec Vue" written for Henri Salvador in 2000 and "The Isis Project", written with Guy Chambers in 2004.Her music has been featured in diverse films and tv series ("Grey's Anatomy", "Six Feet Under", "Big "Love", "Deux Jours A Tuer"). Her song "Beautiful Day" has been the sound of "Skyteam" campaign and in 2008 her song "Lay Your Head Down" was the synch for international H&M spring commercial.

Keren Ann co-wrote and co-produced with Doriand the second album of Singer/Actress Emmanuelle Seigner to be released in January 2010. She is currently finishing the original soundtrack for a French Feature by director Benoit Pétré Starring Jane Birking. The film is to be released in March 2010.
