PROGRESSIVELY KLEZMER with HOWARD LESHAW AND HIS ORCHESTRA
Influenced by Coltrane, Getz, Tarras and Jobim, woodwind virtuoso Howard Leshaw is a one of a kind musician. The Largo of the Vivaldi Piccolo Concerto morphs seamlessly into a wild Moroccan jam. "Yiddishe Mama" is played with all the late night smoke of "Round Midnite". "Moishele", a sweet waltz becomes a trip to Bo Diddley land. Hear Jewish music as a samba, a jazz waltz, and a lush bossa nova. Leshaw doesn’t recreate. He moves Jewish music into the future with a band of jazz masters, combining ethnic integrity, imagination and virtuosity that leave audiences breathless.
"Sizzling, as soon as the clarinet solo starts it’s obvious Leshaw knows his stuff"
