Joe Hurley’s All-Star Irish Rock Revue celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a Star-Studded Gala Concert featuring “THE GREAT IRISH SONGBOOK” plus...ROGUE'S MARCH and a Cast of Thousands! Hosted by Joe Hurley & Edward Rogers
"Joe Hurley's Irish Rock-A-Palooza receives rave reviews every year as the biggest St Pat's party in town. Hurley himself is revered for his soulful baritone "–NY MAG
“I recommend the same thing every year because it is clearly the best party of them all. Rogue's March maestro Joe Hurley puts on a raucous show called the All-Star Irish Rock Revue. If you've never been, you've yet to celebrate St Pat's in NYC. It's that simple " -IRISH VOICE
"As Saint Patrick was deemed the Apostle of Ireland, surely Joe Hurley is the missionary of all things Irish rock ‘n’ roll in New York City. It’s a shame the two never met, as far as I know." -HUFFINGTON POST
"There's no shortage of people and places to avoid around St Patrick's Day, but Joe Hurley's All-Star Irish Revue is not an event to be missed. The Annual concert sees Rogue's March share a stage with members of the NY Dolls, Ian Hunter's Rant Band, & Patti Smith Band…Anything can happen, and usually does, at The Irish Rock Revue" -NY POST
A PADDY R&R CIRCUS
For 20 years, NYC singer-songwriter Joe Hurley has saluted his Irish heritage with a blazing musical extravaganza that celebrates Ireland's musical gifts to the world. This beloved NYC institution is "The most celebrated musical event of the St Pat's season in NYC : performing to sold out audiences at Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall, Lincoln Center & Highline Ballroom" -IRISH ECHO
“ Crammed with astonishing talent ” -NY DAILY NEWS
Hosted by acclaimed songwriters Edward Rogers & Joe Hurley (who recently curated two sold-out T.Rex nights at City Winery), The Irish Rock Revue features a mad parade of extraordinary singers taking the stage as dozens of guest stars rip into the 'Great Irish Songbook' classics of Thin Lizzy, U2, The Pogues, Van Morrison, The Undertones, SLF, Morrissey, John Lydon, Boomtown Rats, Dubliners, Sinead O'Connor, Rory Gallagher, Trad beauties & Rebel Songs.
From the punk of The Undertones 'Teenage Kicks' to the soul of Van's 'Domino,' the pure rock bliss of Thin Lizzy's 'The Boys Are Back in Town' to the poetry of The Pogues 'Streams of Whiskey,' U2's ' In The Name Of Love' & ‘Dirty Old Town’, the songs of the Irish are sung by a wildly diverse group from all cultural backgrounds.
"The songs are Of Ireland... But for everyone." Joe Hurley recently told the HUFFINGTON POST " People of all ethnicities can see themselves in the melodies, the lyrics, of the Irish. By embracing the Irish Songbook, were all pretty much holding hands across the water. Sharing the human condition. It's a joyful event, cracking songs from Thin Lizzy, Van, to old ballads my mother sang for me as a child. Anyone coming to the Revue for the first time will hear wonderful Irish songs that they know, along with obscure ones. And they're not going to hear this anywhere else thanks to the cross-cultural mix of all the artists. A Syrian folk singer, Tristame, doing 'Dirty Old Town?’ Perfect. The artists are not all of Irish descent & that's the point. Ethnically across the board, as culturally diverse as it gets. And these songs are universally beloved."
National Geographic's feature on "The 10 best places to celebrate the St. Patrick's Season in America." voted The All-Star Irish Rock Revue as "The #2 star attraction in America." (The NYC Parade took 1st.)
