Fleming Artists presents a showcase of live music performances:
Blending Folk, Celtic, Bluegrass, Americana, Rock and Pop, perhaps Carbon Leaf’s music can best be summed up in the title of one of their earliest albums, Ether-Electrified Porch Music - a sound that conveys an aura of warmth, punctuated by diverse instruments including mandolin, upright bass, fiddle, penny whistle, banjo, peddle steel as well as acoustic and electric guitars.
Great Big Sea, Sister Hazel, Guster
LISA MARIE PRESLEY:
Lisa Marie Presley is at heart a simple Southern girl whose earliest musical memories are of obsessively listening to 45's in her bedroom at Graceland and of her dad catching her singing into a hairbrush in front of a mirror at the age of three. The Memphis-born Presley reclaims those roots on her new album "Storm and Grace", an Americana-inspired showcase for her songwriting talent and smoldering alto voice.
Janet Jackson, LeAnn Rimes, Sheryl Crow
Simon Townshend is straight from the lineage of one of British music’s most famous families, a familiar name but with an original sound. The son of England’s top big-band reed man and baby brother of Who legend Pete Townshend, Simon has been recording and performing since the age of nine, when he was recruited to add vocals to The Who classic Tommy. On his own Stir Music Label, Simon has released 7 well received solo CD’s and one with the band Casbah Club (featuring Bruce Foxton/The Jam & Mark Brzezicki/Big Country). In February of 2014, STIR Music will release his 8th album DENIAL, containing some of his most personal and inspirational work to date.
The Who, The Kinks, The Yardbirds
Forty years into his storied career, Garland Jeffreys is enjoying the kind of creative second wind most artists can only hope for the first time around, earning a swarm of critical accolades and experiencing his most prolific stretch in decades. 'Truth Serum,' his second album in two years, is a cri de cœur, a stripped-down tone poem from an artist taking his rightful and hard-earned place in the musical pantheon.
Willy DeVille, Graham Parker, Steve Forbert
Willie Nile is an American singer-songwriter who launched his recording career at the height of the major-label era, and never comfortable with the baggage that comes along with being a major-label commodity, Nile has in recent years embraced the autonomy and freedom of his current indie status. To bring his newest release, American Ride to fruition, he decided to take his case directly to the fans, financing the album’s recording, manufacturing and promotion via the Pledgemusic.com. Fans enthusiastically rallied to the cause, and Willie far exceeded his financial goal. In the midst of these fan supported efforts, a few labels took note of Willie’s success and expressed interest in American Ride. The decision was made to partner with Loud & Proud, thereby combining strengths both sides could bring to marketing the release.
