George Harrison 75th Birthday Tribute

Celebrate the music, life and message of the quiet Beatle with a compelling line-up of artists! This special evening will feature songs from Harrison’s Beatles, solo and Traveling Wilbury catalog.  All proceeds benefit Theatre Within, the grassroots non-profit that provides free ongoing workshops in songwriting and meditation at Gilda’s Club, NYC, for those whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

Artists

Willie Nile has been hailed The New Yorker as “one of the most brilliant singer-songwriters of the past 30 years.” He has toured with The Who and performed with Bruce Springsteen. His 2013 album, "American Ride" won “Best Rock Album Of The Year” at the Independent Music Awards. He recently released "Positively Bob," an album of  Dylan songs, to universal acclaim.

Lucy Kaplansky is a rare vocal talent. Blending country, folk and pop styles, she has the unique ability to make every song sound fresh, whether singing originals or covering country, folk and pop favorites. She has topped the folk and Americana radio charts and remains one of the most in-demand harmony singers, having performed with Suzanne Vega, Nanci Griffith, Shawn Colvin and countless others.

Mary Fahl is an expressive, emotional singer/songwriter best known for her years as the lead singer of the October Project. Blessed with a magnificent range, her soaring vocals are big, robust and full-bodied.

The Kennedys, Pete and Maura, recently celebrated their 20th anniversary together, both as a married couple and performing duo. Over the course of more than a dozen albums and countless touring miles, they have carved out a unique niche in the indie music scene. With their “gorgeous boy-girl harmonies” (Entertainment Weekly), they always deliver an exuberant mix of folk, rock, country and pop.

Rich Pagano is a singer/songwriter, touring musician, music producer and drummer/vocalist for the world’s premier Beatles cover band, The Fab Faux, of which he is a founding member. He is also the Music Director for the Annual John Lennon Tribute and a creator/member of Early Elton, the acclaimed trio covering the classic early music of Elton John.

Jack Petruzzelli is a seasoned touring and recording musician who has worked with countless acclaimed artists, including Patti Smith, Joan Osborne and Rufus Wainwright. A founding member of the Fab Faux, Jack recently released his debut solo album, Lake Songs, under the pseudonym Jack Snax.

Jenni Muldaur has recorded with Eric Clapton, Marianne Faithful and Steely Dan and toured with Ronnie Spector, Lou Reed and David Byrne. With deep roots in folk and blues, she has expanded her horizons and embraced modern musical styles in collaborations within John Cale and Robert Quine.

Zeshan B is widely being recognized as one of the most unique singers to come out of Chicago. His debut album, “Vetted,” released earlier this year, charted at #8 on Billboard’s Top 10 Albums (World Music). His live shows have sold out in venues across America, U.K., Italy and India.

Joe Raiola (host) is the Artistic Director of Theatre Within and the creator/producer of the Annual John Lennon Tribute in NYC, now in its 38th year.  For 33 years, through 2017, he was an Editor at MAD Magazine.
