The Time Jumpers, featuring VINCE GILL, DAWN SEARS, KENNY SEARS and "RANGER DOUG" GREEN - 2/12
at City Winery New York City
The Time Jumpers was established in Nashville in 1998 by a group of musicians who wanted to spend some spare time relaxing and jamming. They began gathering Monday nights at the Station Inn bluegrass club as Mondays were typically the slowest evening, but pretty soon Monday nights became one of the busiest of the week. As word spread, the group began to draw large crowds with drop-ins from some notable musicians including Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones and Kings of Leon.
The current Time Jumpers include Dennis Crouch (upright bass), Larry Franklin (fiddle), Paul Franklin (steel guitar), Vince Gill (vocals, electric and acoustic guitars), “Ranger Doug” Green (vocals, acoustic rhythm guitar) Andy Reiss (electric guitar), Dawn Sears (vocals), Kenny Sears (vocals, fiddle), Joe Spivey (fiddle, vocals) Jeff Taylor (accordion, piano) and Billy Thomas (drums, vocals).
Their self-titled album, released in September of this year, is the bands new and first album and is their first studio project. Their live album Jumpin’ Time, which was released in 2007, earned them two Grammy nominations.
The Time Jumpers left the Station Inn earlier this year and have moved to the 3rd & Lindsley nightclub to provide their fans with more seating.
