The THE BAND Band, the nationally renowned tribute to The Band, will be joined by the TTBB Horns and special guests for a celebration of The Last Waltz, the legendary farewell concert by the iconic roots rock group The Band. The concert, famously documented by Martin Scorsese, featured more than a dozen guest artists, including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, and Dr. John, and showcased many of The Band’s classic hit songs, such as "The Weight," "Up On Cripple Creek," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," "Ophelia," and "It Makes No Difference."
As the most musically satisfying Tribute to The Band on the scene today, The THE BAND Band brings the music to life with authentic, true-to-form renditions of the extraordinary repertoire, with the passion and commitment for which The Band was renowned.
Gary Solomon, co-founder of The THE BAND Band, was a 19 year old kid from New York when he found himself at The Last Waltz, at San Francisco’s Winterland Arena on Thanksgiving Day 1976. "I was in the right place at the right time," Solomon says, knowing even then that The Last Waltz would prove to be a concert for the ages. Immediately after the show, Solomon wrote in a letter to his friends back home, "I have just come from the most incredible musical happening I have ever experienced, or probably ever will." Now 60, Solomon leads the critically acclaimed tribute band he started 10 years ago. "I was so blown away by the experience of being at The Last Waltz, I wanted to tell the whole world about it. I guess I still do."
Since they started touring in 2007, The THE BAND Band has been keeping the sound and spirit of The Band alive and well for a grateful and growing fan base.
