World Class Wine Bar, with Great Food, too!

We are not only lucky to have several sommeliers and wine geeks on staff, but we will also have our own winemaker and relationships with dozens of other winemakers from around the world. This allows us to choose from small wineries and limited-release wines of great value. The wine bar will have one of the largest and most varied wine lists in New York City, with over 50 wines per night available by the glass. Of course, we will also have a reserve selection of some of the most widely-known classic vintages from around the world.

Murray's Cheese Shop will host a special cheese bar which will have a full-time expert to create the appropriate wine pairings from a selection of over 30 cheeses brought directly from their facility in Greenwich Village.

In addition, we are forming a number of strategic relationships with other vendors, including a high-end chocolatier, a coffee company and a wine glass supplier, among others.

VinoFile™ Membership

More than a typical rewards program, VinoFile™ is a sophisticated membership with City Winery that tracks your wine consumption, creates a virtual "memory" of wines tasted and profiles your taste for our expert sommeliers and winemakers to offer suggestions for future purchases.

A VinoFile™ member will use their card just like a credit card, swiping it for purchases on site. Using both barcode and RFID technology, usage will be as simple as possible. At the end of your visit, you will enter a couple of short descriptions of the wine you consumed as you sign your receipt. That data will go into your personal and secure web page for later assistance in recalling what wines you liked or disliked. Over a short period of time, the database of information will allow our in-house experts to start suggesting other vineyards, wines or winemakers that you might enjoy. Additionally, as your tastes become more honed toward particular terroir, vintages, etc., you will be invited to private tastings of your favorite winemakers. Even better, special partner wine shops can let you know if the wine you fell in love with is available for purchase. All of this information will be available for web or mobile access, as well as on-site at City Winery.
